Gators open dual match season with a win
This edition of the women's Gator tennis team began their 2007 dual
match campaign as nearly every Gator team before it had, with a win. This opening match win was 7-0 over Stetson Thursday in Gainesville.
Winning in singles for the Gators were: Diana Srebrovic, Nina Suvak,
Megan Alexander, Whitney Benik, Csilla Borsanyi, and Anastasia Revzina.
In doubles it was: Whitney Benik and Nina Suvak teaming up for the win,
Megan Alexander and Diana Srebrovic, as well as Csilla Borsanyi together with Lolita Frangulyan.
"I liked how we competed," said UF women's tennis coach Roland
Thornqvist. "We connected on all six courts in singles to compete as a team, which was a carryover from doubles. As a coach, you can't ask for much more. We came out and did what we wanted to accomplish"
The team next faces Central Florida and North Carolina this weekend.
