Gator Women Swim to Easy Win Over Tennessee
The #6 ranked University of Florida women’s swimming and diving team
defeated #13 Tennessee in impressive fashion 157-86 Friday night in the O’Connell Center Natatorium. Gator swimmers and divers won eight events and scored 15 NCAA provisional-qualifying times.
“We knew we were going to have some fast swims tonight, but we would
still like to see some of the women get a little bit faster times, and we’ll give them another shot at that tomorrow (against Florida Atlantic),” Florida head swim coach Gregg Troy said.
In diving action, Gator freshman Jennifer Funch finished second in the one-
meter event with a season-best score of 263.55, and sophomore Whitney Stern produced a career-best on the three-meter board with a score of 315.83 for second place. |
