Gators happy to have bye week in college football
Coach Meyer makes uncharacteristic guarantee UF will come back 'smokin'

BATON ROUGE, La. - Florida coach Urban Meyer vowed the Gators aren't
done this season despite a heartbreaking 28-24 loss to top-ranked LSU on Saturday.
"I don't make guarantees," Meyer said. "I don't know if I've ever done this, but I
guarantee we'll be back. The Florida Gators will be back smokin.' "
It's gut-check time for the defending national champions, who squandered any
shot at repeating by crumbling in the fourth quarter before a national TV audience and a sellout crowd at Tiger Stadium. Now, Meyer will find out exactly what this team is made of. |
