Great expectations
Harvey is leading Gators' defense by example
BY DAVID JONES - FLORIDA TODAY
GAINESVILLE - It's almost a foregone conclusion that, barring injury, Florida
junior defensive end Derrick Harvey will be cashing checks in the NFL this time next year.
Many thought he was ready to go after making second-team All-SEC a year
ago with 11 sacks, good for No. 2 among SEC defenders. Harvey finished the year off by earning the Defensive MVP honors in the 41-14 national championship game win against Ohio State.
He had three sacks and recovered a fumble deep in Buckeye territory in
Glendale, Ariz.
So what more can Harvey do? This year, the goals are even higher. And he
has a new assignment, as one of two returning starters, to help lead the team. |
