Backup QB Waggener breaks foot during practice
By BRYAN JONES - Alligator Staff Writer
Quarterback Bryan Waggener broke his left foot in practice Wednesday
and will likely be out for the remainder of spring practice, UF coach Urban Meyer said Friday.
A junior college transfer, Waggener was competing with true freshman
Cameron Newton for the backup job behind Tim Tebow.
"Doggone it, that's a tough deal," Meyer said. "A tough deal for us and
even tougher for him, because he's a competitor, and he was doing pretty good." |
