Meyer predicted title meeting with Buckeyes

During a two-day idea swap between Ohio State and Florida
defensive coaches last spring at UF, Gators Coach Urban Meyer
leaned into a conference room and foretold the future.

"I remember joking around, saying, 'See you in the big one,' " he
said after Wednesday's practice in Paradise Valley, Ariz.

The joke is reality now, with Florida and Ohio State five days from
squaring off in the BCS National Championship Game. But the
meetings' participants, who certainly shared secrets in an effort
to bolster both programs, have recognized the irony but
downplayed the significance.

UF co-defensive coordinator Greg Mattison said he didn't regret
the sessions. Such occasions, he said, are necessary to bolster
the UF program on the field.

"If you [don't] do that, no one will get any better," Mattison said.
"The way coaches get better is that they share."

Siler hasn't decided

Florida junior LB and Evans grad Brandon Siler insisted he hasn't
chosen whether to turn pro after this season. Reporters
questioned Siler on the topic after several Internet message-board
posters suggested the jump was a sure thing.

"They're lies," Siler said of the posts. "I haven't decided what I'm
going to do."

Siler and four of his UF classmates asked the NFL's College
Advisory Committee for a estimate of where they'd be selected in
April's draft.
