Gators fire Peck
Jeremy Foley couldn't wait any longer.
Florida's athletic director got an early jump on resurrecting Florida's
women's basketball program by firing fifth-year head coach Carolyn Peck Monday morning.
The announcement comes with Florida in the midst of its worst season in
the program's 34-year history. The Gators have lost a program-worst 13 straight games and are 6-20 overall and 0-11 in the SEC.
Peck, who will coach the Gators for the remainder of the season before
stepping aside, choked back tears as she addressed the media Monday afternoon. |
