LaPorta leads raw UF infield

If the 2007 UF baseball team is to perform better than last season's 28-28
squad, they will need solid play from an infield that returns only one starter at his position.
Senior Matt LaPorta will maintain first-base duties, while junior Brandon
McArthur will move from second to third, and the middle infield will be manned by a mix of versatile players.
Despite being chosen in the 14th round of June's 2006 Major League
Baseball Draft, LaPorta returns after missing 13 games last year with an oblique muscle strain. |
