Point guard picks Gators

Most UF basketball fans didn't take much comfort in point guard Taurean Green's decision to forgo his senior year in favor
of the NBA Draft.

Coveted basketball recruit Jai Lucas, however, saw Green's choice as an open door. On Monday, he walked through it.

"I've decided to come to the University of Florida," the 5-foot-10 point guard announced from Bellaire High in Houston.

GAINESVILLE -- Rob Lanier, a former head coach at Siena College and most recently an assistant coach at Virginia,
has joined coach Billy Donovan's staff at Florida.

Lanier's hire fills the hole created when associate head coach Donnie Jones became head coach at Marshall
University.
