UCF had been scheduled as Florida's home opener (Sept. 1) next season. Western Kentucky, which finished 6-5
this past season, replaces UCF on the Gators' 2007 schedule. |

The University of Central Florida released its 2007 schedule Monday and the Gators are not on it. UF and UCF
were supposed to play a second consecutive game in The Swamp, but the Golden Knights have replaced Florida with North Carolina State, the first home-and-home series between the two schools.

Florida coach Urban Meyer has been calling junior free safety Reggie Nelson one of the nation's premier players
since the middle of the season. The rest of the country is starting to agree.
Nelson, the big hitter and playmaker from Melbourne, picked up some more national recognition Tuesday when he
was named to The Associated Press All-America team. He is the only Gator on the first team. |

Sha Brooks evolving into complete player
Sha Brooks is a shooter. Sha Brooks is a scorer.
That was the scouting report on Brooks last year when she became a second-team All-SEC selection as
a freshman by averaging 13.7 points per game.
Now, in her second season with the Gators, Brooks is proving she is more than a scorer. This 5-foot-7
guard has proven to be an effective rebounder, a disruptive defender, and a heady point guard over the past few weeks. |
