Making a splash
The UF Athletics Hall of Fame honors Gatorade's creator, who changed sports drinks and brought a new meaning to the
postgame shower.
Dave Curtis | Orlando Sentinel Staff Writer
GAINESVILLE -- The fitting finish Friday night would have gone like this: Robert Cade, the professor emeritus of nephrology
who found his way into Florida's Athletics Hall of Fame, capping his induction into that Hall by taking a cooler of Gatorade
over the head.
Such a moment would have brought together the parties in one of the most lucrative marriages in school history. The
relationship was celebrated Friday, when Cade entered the Hall as part of a nine-person class that featured baseball's
David Eckstein, football's Ellis Johnson and Lawrence Wright, and women's basketball's Delisha Milton-Jones.
